PhD Scholarships in the development of a future biorefinery: synthesis
of novel chemical products from biomass feedstocks
Two scholarships are available on a full-time basis for a research
project leading to a PhD at the University of Sydney; applicants should
have an Honours 1 degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a
related discipline; applicants should be Australian citizens, permanent
residents and New Zealand citizens ; the project is to investigate the
synthesis of high value-added fuels and chemical products from biomass
feedstocks; $20 427pa; up to 3.5 years.
Closing Date: 30 June 2009
Post-graduate scholarship on consumer involvement in nephrology
A full-time post graduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with an honours or masters degree in the Health
Sciences to undertake research studies leading to a PhD; the research
project focuses on patient-important outcomes in nephrology evaluation
and research; Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent
residents; $25,000pa; up to three years.

Heart Foundation Travel Grants
These travel grants are for junior researchers working in the area of
cardiovascular disease or related areas; applicants must be based in
Australia; applicants must be Australian citizens or Australian
permanent residents; up to $2,000.
Closing Date: 31 July 2009
Heart Foundation Summer Scholarships
These summer scholarships are to provide undergraduates with an
opportunity to participate in a research projects broadly related to
cardiovascular function and diseases; applicants must be Australian
Citizens, permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; applicants must
have completed at least two years of undergraduate study in Science,
Medicine or relevant areas; up to $2,000; for six to eight weeks.
Closing Date: 31 July 2009

The Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Scholarship in Law for 2008
A postgraduate scholarship in law is on offer for tenure at universities
in the United Kingdom; principally for studies at Oxford, Cambridge,
London and Edinburgh universities; awarded based on academic excellence;
applicants must be Australian citizens and should have at least an
Honours 2A degree in Law; tenable for one year.
Closing Date: 31 August 2009
