Postgraduate Scholarship in the Neuroscience of Mammalian Visual Cortex

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with an Honours degree (preferably Honours 1) for a
PhD in the School of Medical Sciences; the research project is to
investigate the integration of information by single neurons in the
mammalian visual cortices with emphasis on examining the role of
feed-forward and feedback inputs; applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens;
$20,427pa; p to three years.

Post-graduate scholarship on consumer involvement in nephrology

A full-time post graduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with an honours or masters degree in the Health
Sciences to undertake research studies leading to a PhD; the research
project focuses on patient-important outcomes in nephrology evaluation
and research; Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent
residents; $25,000pa; up to three years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Planet Scale Reorganisation of the Plate
Mantle System

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with an Honours degree for a PhD in the School of
Geosciences; this project aims to unravel the causes of sudden plate
tectonic reorganization that occurred in the Cretaceous about 100
million years ago and to explicitly model them; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand
citizens; $20,427; up to 2 years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Medical Research

A scholarship is available for a suitably qualified candidate with a
degree in Science (Honours) to undertake research studies leading to a
PhD; the project is to investigate the therapeutic application of
peptides for the treatment of type 1 Diabetes; applicants must be
Australian citizens or permanent residents; $20,427pa; up to three
years.

Wenkart Foundation Grants 2009

These grants are for research in clinical, biomedical and health related
sciences; the funding will depend on the expenses of the project, and
grants are made for periods of up to two years; applicants must be
full-time students and Australian permanent residents or undergraduates
educated in Australia and intending to reside in Australia.
