NEWS ITEM: Sydney Showcases its Youngest and Brightest Researchers. 

Sydney's early career researchers are holding an afternoon featuring
current research work, achievements and aspirations being pursued at the
University of Sydney. This is a chance to speak with researchers outside
your usual research area, and perhaps, to identify potential for
multi-disciplinary collaborations in the future. The showcase will be
opened by Vice Chancellor Doctor Michael Spence, on Wednesday 1st
October, 2.00pm-5.30pm, Pharmacy Lecture Theatre N342, Camperdown
Campus, and will be followed by refreshments. Registration is free.

RESEARCH: Sidney Myer Health Scholarships

OVERSEAS: Rhodes Scholarship 2009 for Hong Kong; Australian Federation
of University Women NSW Inc

 

Sidney Myer Health Scholarships

The aim of these Scholarships is to enhance the career development of
allied and public health, medical, bio-medical science and nursing
professionals and address community and population health issues in
local and regional communities across Australia over the period of three
years; applicants must have an Honours or Masters Degree in a relevant
allied and Public Health, medical, bio-medical science or nursing course
at an accredited tertiary institution; applicants must be Australian
citizens commencing their degree in 2009.

Rhodes Scholarship 2009 for Hong Kong

Rhodes Scholarships are tenable at the University of Oxford, United
Kingdom; applicants should be Hong Kong residents who have received at
least ten years of education in Hong Kong or citizens of the People's
Republic of China who are currently enrolled for full-time study in a
university in Hong Kong; must have passed their nineteenth but not their
twenty-fifth birthday by 1 October 2009; and must have obtained an
honours degree by October 1 2009; for study in a range of fields for up
to two years; scholarship includes airfares, a personal allowance and
university fees.

The AFUW-NSW Inc. Tempe Mann Travelling Scholarship   

This Scholarship is awarded to a woman to undertake a short period of
advanced research or coursework in any field at an overseas university
or equivalent organization; valued at $7,500; tenure to be determined;
applicants must hold or be enrolled in a masters or doctoral degree at
the University of Sydney.
