Vice-Chancellor's Research Scholarships (VCRS), Australian Postgraduate
Awards (APA), University of Sydney Postgraduate Awards (UPA)
Applications for the 2009 VCRS/APA/UPA are now open. To download
information for applicants, an application form, and referee reports,
please go to:

Applications close 31 October 2008.
The following scholarships are offered in conjunction with the

Scholarships in the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Planning
Scholarships in the Faculty of Economics and Business
Scholarships in the Faculty of Health Sciences
Scholarships in the Faculty of Medicine
Scholarships in the Faculty of Pharmacy
Scholarships in the Faculty of Science
Scholarships in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music
Scholarships in the Faculty of Veterinary Science
Scholarships in the School of Physics

Henry Bertie and Florence Mabel Gritton Research Scholarships (in
Chemistry related to Industry and Agriculture)
Approximately 8 scholarships are funded each year by a bequest from the
estates of Henry Bertie and his wife Florence Mabel Gritton; the
scholarships are to promote the knowledge and study of Chemistry in
relation to Industry and Agriculture, including Chemistry connected with
Electrical Engineering, Metallurgical Chemistry and Chemistry in its
application to the Mining and the winning and treatment of minerals and
natural products of the soil; value, tenure and benefits are similar to
that of the APA.

Richard Claude Mankin Scholarship (in water conservation)
Funded by a bequest comprising the residual estate of Winifred Roby
Mankin to promote and encourage research at The University of Sydney
related to water conservation; value and tenure are similar to that of
the APA.

G.C. Henderson Research Scholarship (in history of the Polynesian,
Melanesian and Micronesian communities)
Funded by a bequest from Professor G.C. Henderson to promote and
encourage research into the history of the Polynesian, Melanesian and
Micronesian communities; open to full-time postgraduate research
candidates intending to enroll in the Department of Anthropology or
History; tenure and benefits are similar to that of the UPA.
