NEWS:

The Digital Innovation Unit for the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences
(DIU) is a new initiative to promote and support eResearch and the
innovative use of digital technology. DIU brings together existing
research units with string digital programs, and collaborates across
faculties with other units involved in eResearch. DIU can assist with
developing digital research methods, which can include the use of
websites, electronic resources, databases, visualisation techniques, and
textual and statistical analysis. The Unit can also assist with finding
solutions for the management of a variety of bibliographic, textual,
image and audiovisual data. Supervisors of research students may contact
DIU to discuss the use of digital technologies in students' research

Research Scholarships

 

Rebecca L Cooper Medical Research Foundation PhD Scholarship

For young science and medical graduates beginning their PhD or in their
first year: to undertake a thesis study in the medical applications of
Geriatric Research: will support basic and clinical research training at
a recognized Australian University: to start in 2009 for one year:
$25,000; possible renewal for a further 2 years.

Peter Baillieu Scholarship in Agribusiness

A PhD scholarship within the Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Natural
Resources, up to 3 years: to promote and encourage research in
Australian agribusiness: all areas of agribusiness will be considered,
preference for Central West of New South Wales: applicants must have a
good honours degree, or the equivalent, in a relevant discipline:
$20,007 pa: up to three years subject to satisfactory progress:
applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents
or New Zealand citizens.

Faculty of Economics and Business Research Scholarships

For Local and International full-time candidates enrolling in the
Faculty of Economics and Business PhD program in 2008: must have, or
expect to obtain a good honours (i.e. first or upper second class
honours) or masters level degree and carried out high quality
independent research: up to $20,000 pa for International students and up
to $25,000 pa for Local students: up to three years.

Overseas Scholarships

 

The Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Scholarship in Law

Up to three post-graduate scholarships in law for tenure at universities
in the United Kingdom, for one, two or three academic years: awarded for
a program of study leading to a higher degree in any subject within the
discipline of law: must be Australian citizens, have been resident in
Australia for at least five of the last ten years, and be available for
interview in Australia at the time of selection in mid-October: must
have at least an Upper Second Class Honours Degree in Law, normally from
an Australian university.

King and Amy O'Malley Scholarships

Up to 30 scholarships for tertiary study in Home Economics: postgraduate
scholarships are open to students with a Home Economics undergraduate
qualification who are undertaking full time postgraduate study in an
aspect of Home Economics in Australia or overseas: currently valued at
$7,500.

Dunlop Asia Fellowships

Provides opportunities for young Australians to making a lasting
contribution to Australia-Asia relations: up to $15,000 for an
individually devised program in an Asian country in a wide variety of
