Research Scholarships

 

Widdifield Cardiac Research Scholarship

For a suitably qualified candidate with a good degree in pharmacy to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in pharmacy;  the project is to investigate the roles of pharmacists and medication-related issues in chronic disease, specifically cardiac and respiratory diseases; $20,000 pa: up to 3 years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) Health and Welfare of Dogs in Remote Indigenous Communities

For a research project leading to a PhD; the objective of the research project is monitor the health and welfare of dogs in remote Indigenous communities, undertake epidemiological studies on mortalities, genotyping infectious disease and to provide evidence to contribute to a culturally relevant education program in each community; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens and have an H1 or 2 degree in either veterinary science, agricultural science, in medical science, biosciences or related areas; $25,627 pa; up to 3 years.

Other Scholarships

 

AFUW-NSW Tempe Mann Travelling Scholarship

For women who hold a research masters or doctoral degree from or who are enrolled as a research masters or doctoral degree student at The University of Sydney; the Scholarship is awarded to a woman to undertake a short period of advanced research or course work in any field, at an overseas university or equivalent organization; $7,500; the scholarship is to be taken up in 2008 or early 2009 for a period to be agreed by the Trustees; applicants must be an Australian citizen or an Australian permanent resident.
