REMINDER

 

VCRS & UPA (Co-funded) 2008 Semester 2


Open to applicants who wish to commence a full-time Research Masters or
Research Doctorate degree at the University of Sydney in 2008 Semester
2; students who have already enrolled in a research degree at USYD are
not eligible to apply; applicants must be Australian citizens, New
Zealand citizens or have been granted permanent resident status in
Australia by 13 June 2008.

National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) Postgraduate
Research Scholarships for 2009

Applications for the 2009 NHMRC Postgraduate Research Scholarships are
now open.  Applicants for these scholarships must refer to the
University of Sydney Submission Guidelines available from
http://www.usyd.edu.au/ro/training/NHMRC2007Schols.shtml prior to
commencing the application.  Completed applications must be sent to the
Research Office by Friday, 11 July 2008.

Research Scholarships

 

Northern Blood Research Centre Scholarship

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate with a good honours or Masters degree in biomedical
science to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in medicine: the
project is to investigate the effect of nutritional supplements and
dietary factors on platelet function and coagulation: $25,872 pa for up
to 3 years, subject to satisfactory progress: applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand
citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Quantum Foundations

A full-time postgraduate scholarship is available for a suitably
qualified candidate in philosophy and/or physics, to undertake research
studies leading to a PhD in the field of quantum foundations: applicants
should have a particular interest in hidden variable and stochastic
theories of quantum mechanics: $20,007 pa for up to three years, subject
to satisfactory progress.

Faculty of Economics and Business International Doctoral Exchange
Program Scholarships

The Faculty of Economics and Business has established a new scholarship
program to promote the development of an international doctoral exchange
network for PhD students: to be eligible PhD students must be enrolled
full-time at the University of Sydney and have successfully presented
their research proposal: an overseas stay of a minimum of 1 semester
must be completed as part of the program: award of $5,000 as a
contribution towards travel and living expenses.

Closing: 31 October 2008.

The General Sir John Monash Awards 

General Sir John Monash Awards recognise academic excellence and
leadership: awarded to Australian citizens graduating from Australian
Universities to enable them to undertake postgraduate study abroad to
gain a higher degree: cover an unlimited range of academic fields:
valued up to AUD $150,000 over 3 years.
