Heart Foundation Research Program - Presentation on 8 February 2008

Are you looking for funding for your heart, stroke or blood vessel
disease research?  The Heart Foundation Research Program provides an
important source of funding for research into the causes, prevention,
management and diagnosis or cardiovascular disease and related
disorders.

 

The Foundation provides funding to researchers working in universities,
hospitals and recognized research institutions across Australia and
offers Grants-in-Aid, Fellowships, Scholarships, Travel Grants and
Summer Scholarships.

 

This presentation will provide information on the Heart Foundation
Research Program, the types of research funding offered, the assessment
criteria for funding and the Peer Review process.  It will also provide
tips on what to do to give yourself and your team the best chance of
receiving funding.

 

The presentation will be held at the University of Sydney in the General
Lecture Theatre (N205), Main Quadrangle, A14, at 12.30pm on Friday, 8

RESEARCH:  Information Systems, Solid Mechanics and Manufacturing
Engineering

 

Information Systems PhD Scholarship in strategic technology-enabled
business innovation

For suitably qualified candidates to commence their full-time PhD
studies in strategic management of technology-enabled business
innovation in the Financial Services sector; this project aims to
advance understanding of technology-enabled innovation management in the
adoption and implementation of disruptive technologies; applicants
should have a relevant Bachelor's degree with H1 or a Masters by
Research degree or equivalent;; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens; $25,118 pa; up to 3
years.

Ten Postgraduate Scholarships in Solid Mechanics and Manufacturing
Engineering

10 PhD scholarships are available; 1 in "Cutting Tip Design for Mining
Industry"; 1 in "Wafer Technology for Semiconductor Industry"; 2 in
"Manufacturing of Advanced Hip Joint Prostheses"; 2 in "Tribology in
Metal Rolling"; 2 in "Residual Stress Characterisation of Thin Film
Systems"; 2 in "Nano-manufacturing Technology"; applicants should have
an Hons degree in the field of manufacturing, mechanical, materials,
mechanics, or a relevant discipline; $25,118 pa; up to 3 years.
