Research Scholarships

 

Postgraduate Research Scholarship to Advance the Proteomics Surveillance
of Influenza           

A scholarship for full-time PhD research is available to advance
proteomics surveillance of the influenza virus and anti- viral drug
screening; applicants should hold an Honours 1 or high 2A degree (or
equivalent) in a relevant discipline; open to Australian citizens and
permanent residents only; up to three years; $25,000pa or $5,000pa top
up for APA/UPA holders.

Postgraduate Scholarships in: Immunopathological studies of infectious
diseases; Hysiology and pathophysiology of tryptophan metabolism

2 scholarships are offered to students who undertake a higher degree by
research in the broad fields of immunology, pathophysiology and
biochemistry; Project 1: pathogenesis of bacterial meningitis; Project
2: biomedical significance of indoleamine dioxygenase-2; applicants
should have H1 or 2A; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents, or NZ citizens; $26,000 pa; up to 3 years; can also
be awarded as a top-up scholarship to a combined total value of $26,000
pa, if the recipient receives an offer of another scholarship.

Great Artesian Basin Coordinating Committee PhD Top-up Scholarship

2 top-up scholarships are offered for PhD students to undertake research
in the ecological, physical, cultural or socioeconomic aspects of the
Great Artesian Basin;  $5,000 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be an
Australian citizen or have Australian Permanent Resident status and be
successful in obtaining a primary scholarship such as an APA or
equivalent.

Overseas Scholarships

 

Peterhouse Cambridge Research Studentships

For study at Peterhouse only; applicants must intend to be candidates
for the degree of PhD in the University of Cambridge; students will be
required to come into residence in October 2009; the Studentship is
generally sufficient to cover fees and basic living expenses; maximum of
three years' total tenure.
