PhD Scholarship in Transporter Biology
For a suitably qualified candidate with a good honours degree in science
to undertake full time research studies leading to a PhD in
Pharmacology; the project is to investigate the structural basis for
N-arachidonylglycine inhibition of glycine transport; $20,007 pa as
start -up funds in 2008; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

PhD Scholarship in Infectious Diseases
For a PhD into the molecular mechanisms utilised by Pseudomonas
aeruginosa in its transmission, infectivity and virulence in cystic
fibrosis patients; applicants should have an Honours Class 1 or 2A
degree from an Australian university or equivalent; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or New Zealand
citizens; $20,007 pa; up to three years; must commence semester 2, 2008.

AKCMM Postgraduate Stipend Scholarship
For a full-time research project leading to a PhD at the University of
Sydney in the Australian Key Centre for Microscopy and Microanalysis;
the research program is concerned with the mechanisms of strengthening
in Al-Cu-Mg alloys; applicants should have a degree in Honours 1 or 2A
in Materials Science or equivalent; $25,000 pa; up to one year with
possible extension.

Flavivirus Molecular Pathology Research Scholarship
For a suitably qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading
to a M. Phil in the Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health; the
project will investigate the role of transcription factors and toll-like
receptors in Flavivirus-induced expression of major histocompatability
complex-1 and intracellular adhesion molecule-1; applicants should have
expertise in cell culture, growing viruses, molecular biology, flow
cytometry and some experience working with Flaviviruses; $20,007 pa; up
to one year with possible extension; applicants must be Australian
citizens or permanent residents.
