Research Scholarships

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Nanostructured Surface Films
For a suitably qualified candidate with a good hons degree in science or
engineering to undertake research studies leading to an MSc or PhD in
chemistry; the project is to investigate the structure of surface
coatings formed by adsorbed layers of polymerisable surfactants; $19,616
pa; up to 2 years.

Sylvia and Charles Viertel Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Dementia

Two scholarships will be offered for research commencing 2008, one in
biological/non clinical and one in clinical/psychosocial research in
dementia; $30,000 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be Australian
citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

CSIRO Livestock Industries PhD Project - Statistical methods, design and
power of genetical genomics experiments 

CSIRO Livestock Industries (CLI) has a well established and exciting
student program, and in conjunction with Australian Universities, is
offering PhD studentships commencing early 2008; the PhD project on
offer at the JM Rendel Laboratory in Rockhampton, in conjunction with
the University of Sydney, is "R2 Statistical methods, design and power
of genetical genomics experiments".

Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Travel Grants

The JDRF invites applications from young researchers for grants of up to
$2,500 and allied health and nursing professionals for grants up to
$2000 to allow travel to research institutions or scientific meetings,
for the purpose of furthering their expertise in the study of type 1
(juvenile) diabetes.
