Research Scholarships

 

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on the Proteomics of Embryo Development 

The project is to explore, using the latest proteomic and genomic techniques the requirements for normal embryo development, and the changes that occur with differentiation; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in a relevant biological or biomedical field; $25,627 pa; 3 yrs; must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Clinical and Rehabilitation Sciences.

Available for a candidate with an Hons or research Masters Degree in an health-related discipline; the project is to investigate rehabilitation strategies in people who have sustained spinal cord injury (SCI) resulting in complete or partial paralysis and motor dysfunction; $35,000 pa, up to 3 years.

Faculty of Medicine - Postgraduate Research Scholarships

Available for candidates who have been accepted for full-time study within the Faculty of Medicine at USyd, must be Australian citizens or permanent residents, or citizens of NZ; $20,007 pa in 2008; conditions closely follow the APA.

Elizabeth and Henry Hamilton-Browne Scholarship - preference will be given to female students. 

Reginald Maney Lake and Amy Laura Bonamy Scholarship - for research in the area of pathology. 

Muriel and Walter Lumley Research Scholarship - preference will be given to students in the area of gynaecology.

Postgraduate PhD Completion Scholarship in Pain Management 

Available for a suitably candidate completing a PhD in pain management; applicants should be close to completion of their PhD and require one further term of support; $7,500 in total from early Jan to 30 Mar 2008 and must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Other Scholarships

 

Wentworth Group Scholarships

Available to Hons and postgraduate research students enrolled at an Australian university, funds to be used to support a program of mentoring during 2008; additional funds to assist with mentoring, primarily for travel; costs of travel, accommodation and expenses to a Master Class will also be covered; the scholarship cannot be used as a stipend; preference will be given to full-time students under 35 years of age.
