RESEARCH SCHOLARSHIPS:  Medical Research, Palaeoenvironmental and
Archaeological Research in the Greater Angkor Area, Oral Health,
Nanostructured Materials, Oral Rehabilitation, Causes/Prevention of
Youth Suicide, Australian Leadership Awards.

 

Postgraduate Scholarship in Medical Research

For a suitably qualified candidate with a degree in science/medicine to
undertake research studies leading to a PhD in the Department of
Rheumatology; the project is to investigate the therapeutic application
of peptides for the treatment of auto-immune diseases; $19,616 pa; up to
3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens or Australian permanent
residents.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Palaeoenvironmental and Archaeological
Research in the Greater Angkor Area, Cambodia

For a research project leading to a PhD at the University of Sydney for
research on the archaeological and environmental landscapes in the
greater Angkor area, Cambodia; $19,616 pa; up to 3 years; applicants
must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ
citizens and hold an Honours or Masters degree in a relevant field.

Faculty of Dentistry Dental Board of NSW Postgraduate Scholarship in
Oral Health

For a suitably qualified candidate with a good undergraduate degree to
undertake research studies leading to a MPhil or PhD in Oral Health;
research strengths in the field include dentistry-related oral biology,
oral physiology, public health, bioengineering and education; projects
are varied and interested applicants should contact heads of research
units to learn more about research opportunities; $25 000 pa; up to 3
years for a PhD(2 years for an MPhil).

PhD Scholarships in Nanostructured Materials

To undertake PhD research to help design and develop extraordinary
combinations of high strength and ductility in advanced aluminium
alloys; 2 projects are available: PhD Program #1: Structures and their
Effect on Deformation Mechanisms in Nanostructured Materials Processed
by Severe Plastic Deformation; PhD Program #2: Stability of Properties
and Structures in Nanostructured Alloys Processed by Severe Plastic
Deformation ; $24,000 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must have an H1 or
2A or a Master degree.

PhD Scholarship Investigating Causes/Prevention of Youth Suicide

Applications are being called for by the Australian Rotary Health
Research Fund; the research should focus on the causes and prevention of
Mental Illness, in particular depression and youth suicide; $25,000 pa;
up to 3 years; applicants must be eligible to undertake a PhD programme,
or be in the first or second years of a PhD programme at a University or
research institute in Australia.

Australian Leadership Awards Scholarships

ALA Scholarships are academically prestigious awards offered to high
achievers from the Asia-Pacific region each year to undertake
postgraduate study (Masters or Doctorate) and a Leadership Training
Program in Australia; awards are open to all fields of study, however,
study programs that relate to the priority themes of international
trade, pandemics, security and climate change, including clean energy
are encouraged; benefits include: return air travel, visa support,
establishment allowance, full tuition fees, contribution to living
expenses, Introductory Academic program (IAP), Overseas Student Health
Cover (OSHC) for the duration of the award (for award holder only).
