Travelling Scholarships

Applications are invited from graduates or graduands of the University
of Sydney who are of not more than four years standing from qualifying
for the first degree appropriate to the proposed course of study
overseas. Scholarships shall normally be awarded to enable scholars to
enrol in an overseas university to undertake studies or research.
Applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.
Scholarship conditions vary but usually include an annual stipend of
$20,000 and supplementation of up to $2,000 to cover the cost of
airfares.  Some scholarships are offered for specific disciplines or
places of study, however there are also general awards.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Molecular Mechanisms Involved in
Endometriosis

For a suitable qualified candidate to undertake research studies leading
to a PhD; the project is to investigate molecular mechanisms involved in
endometriosis.  Applicants should have a knowledge of proteomic
technology and immunohistochemistry; $10,000 pa; up to 3 years;
applicants must be Australian citizens.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship in the EHN Virus in the Murray Darling
Basin

Applications are invited for an exciting scholarship opportunity to
conduct research into viral diseases of fish in the Murray Darling river
system leading to a PhD in epidemiology and infectious diseases; the
project will investigate the occurrence of epizootic haematopoietic
necrosis virus (EHNV) in native finfish and determine the susceptibility
of these species to the virus experimentally; $25,000 pa; up to 3 years;
applicants should be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents
or NZ citizens.
