REMINDER

 

VCRS & UPA (Co-funded) Semester 2, 2007


Open to applicants who wish to commence a full-time Research Masters or
Research Doctorate degree at the University of Sydney in Semester 2,
2007; students who have already enrolled in a research degree at USYD
are not eligible to apply; 2 years for Masters and 3 years for PhD;
applicants must be Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or have
been granted permanent resident status in Australia by 15 June 2007.

Research Scholarships

 

The Discipline of Biomedical Sciences Research Completion Scholarship
(SBSRCS) 

For suitably qualified and currently enrolled postgraduate students
(local or international) who have demonstrated excellent progress in
their research degree and who would be aided by financial assistance to
accelerate the completion of their candidature; applicants must be
enrolled full-time and involved in a project leading to a PhD or Masters
by research in the School of Biomedical Sciences; $20,000 pa pro rata;
up to 6 months.

PhD Scholarship in Development of Novel Chemotherapeutics for Brain
Cancer and their Mechanism of Inhibiting Cancer Growth

For a project involving the testing of novel drugs for the treatment of
cancer; applicants should have an interest in cancer cell biology,
molecular biology, biochemistry and pharmacology; applicants must be
Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand
citizens; stipend is equivalent to APA ($19,616 pa in 2007); up to 3
years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Cancer Services Research

For a research project leading to a PhD; applicants should have a good
hons degree or Masters degree in public health, epidemiology,
psychology, health information management or a health-related field;
candidates with a particular interest in the further development and
evaluation of data integration technology are particularly encouraged to
apply; the stipend is valued at the  appropriate NHMRC rate; up to 3
years; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent
residents or NZ citizens.

The Jean Denton Memorial Scholarship

The purpose of the scholarship is to advance knowledge in early
childhood education; the scholarship is for postgraduate studies or
advanced research either within or outside Australia, the purpose or the
benefit of which will be applied in the early childhood area within
Australia; up to $16,000 pa; up to 1 year.

Overseas Scholarships

 

2008 General Sir John Monash Awards

Eight awards are made each year to Australian citizens judged to have
outstanding academic achievement, community consciousness and service
and leadership potential in their field and the community; up to
$150,000 over 3 years for postgraduate studies at any of the best
universities overseas.

DAAD Study Scholarships for Graduates of All Disciplines

Provides foreign graduates of all disciplines with opportunities to
complete a postgraduate or Master's degree course at a German higher
education institution and to gain a degree in Germany (Master's/Diplom);
awarded for between 10 and 24 months; award includes a monthly stipend
of 715 euros, a study and research allowance and, where appropriate, a
rent subsidy and family allowance.

DAAD Study Scholarships for Artists

These study scholarships aim to provide foreign applicants from the
field of Fine Art, Design, Film, Music and Architecture with an
opportunity to complete a course of extension studies, without gaining a
formal degree or qualification, at a state institution of higher
education in Germany; generally awarded for 1 academic year; the award
includes a monthly stipend of 715 euros plus travel and luggage costs,
health insurance allowance, and where appropriate, a rent subsidy and
family allowance.
