Research Scholarships

 

Heart Foundation Postgraduate Research Scholarships

Offered in Biomedical, Clinical and Public Health disciplines; for
nursing, medical or science graduates seeking support for full-time
research studies leading to a PhD; awarded for research in
cardiovascular disease and related disorders;  applicants should be
Australian citizens or Permanent Resident who engage in research in
Australia at the time of application; $29,172 pa (for medical graduates)
or $22,005 pa (non-medical graduates); up to 3 years.

2008 Endeavour Research Fellowships (for Australians)

Provide financial support for postgraduate students and postdoctoral
fellows from Australia to undertake short-term research (4-6 months), in
any field of study; research is to be undertaken in participating
countries within the Asia/Pacific region and the Middle East; travel
allowance of $5,000;  establishment allowance of $5,000; monthly stipend
(up to 6 months on a pro-rata basis) of $2,500.

2008 Endeavour Research Fellowships For Indigenous Australians

Provide financial support for Indigenous postgraduate students and
postdoctoral fellows to undertake short-term research, in any field of
study; research is to be undertaken in participating countries within
the Asia/Pacific region and the Middle East;  travel allowance of
$5,000; establishment allowance of $5,000;  monthly stipend (up to 6
months on a pro-rata basis) of $2,500.

2008 Endeavour Australia Cheung Kong Research Fellowships (for
Australians)

Provide financial support for postgraduate students and postdoctoral
fellows from Australia to undertake short-term research (4-6 months), in
any field of study, in participating Asian countries; travel allowance
of $5,000; establishment allowance of $5,000; monthly stipend (up to 6
months on a pro-rata basis) of $2,500.

National Heart Foundation Travel Grant

For researchers working in the area of cardiovascular disease or related
areas; open to Australian citizens or permanent residents; applicants
must be based in Australia.

Heart Foundation Summer Scholarships

Provides undergraduates with the opportunity to participate in
supervised Biomedical, Clinical or Public Health research projects which
are broadly related to cardiovascular function and disease, during the
summer vacation at an Australian University or Institution; tenable for
6-8 weeks; $180 per week; open to Australian citizens on permanent
residents and applicants must be based in Australia

2008 Endeavour Awards for Turkey (for Australians)

Provide financial assistance for postgraduate students from Australia to
undertake, in any field of study, either a Turkish Masters degree or
PhD; or research in Turkey towards a Masters degree or PhD in Australia;
travel allowance of $5,000; establishment allowance of $5,000; monthly
stipend (up to 12 months on a pro-rata basis) of $3,333.
