APAI in Safety in the Heavy Vehicle Industry

For a research project leading to a PhD; the project aims to determine
what role key risk factors play in heavy vehicle crashes, and to
identify cost-effective strategies to improve safety within the heavy
vehicle industry; applicants should hold an appropriate H1 or high 2A
(or equivalent) undergraduate degree; applicants must be Australian
citizens, Australian permanent residents, or NZ citizens; $25,627 pa;
commencing Sem 2, 2007.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Photonic Signal Processing


For a suitably qualified candidate in Electrical Engineering with a
Masters degree to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in
photonic signal processing; the project is to investigate frequency
shifting recirculating photonic signal processors as they apply to
coherence-free processors with high resolution; $25,627 pa; up to 1 year
with a possible extension.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Human Nutrition

For a candidate with a good Hons degree in nutritional science and a
Masters degree in Nutrition and Dietetics; the project is to investigate
the relationship between dietary intake, dietary restraint and
biochemical markers of nutritional status; $19,616 pa; up to 1 year,
with the possibility of extension for a further 6 months.

Postgraduate Scholarships in Chemical Engineering

2 scholarships are available for suitably qualified candidates with a
good Hons degree in science or engineering to undertake research studies
leading to a MER or PhD in chemical engineering; the project is to
investigate the behaviour of complex chemical reacting systems; $25,000
pa; up to 2 years for a MER or up to 3 years for a PhD; applicants must
be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Healthcare Services for Older People

For suitably qualified candidates with an Hons degree, or equivalent, in
health related discipline to undertake research studies leading to a PhD
in Healthcare Services for Older People; the project is to investigate
the effectiveness of transition care services for older people; $22,000
pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or New Zealand citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Oral Rehabilitation

For a suitably qualified candidate with a good undergraduate degree to
undertake research studies leading to a MPhil or PhD in Oral Health;
research strengths in the field include dentistry-related oral biology,
oral physiology, public health, bioengineering and education; $25,000
pa; up to 3 years (2 years for an MPhil).

Other Scholarships

 

Australian Biological Resources Study Student Travel Bursary

For travel to a national or international conference relevant to both
the student's research program in systematics or taxonomy and the Aims
and Objectives of the ABRS; up to $1,000 is available for an
international conference and $500 for travel within Australia.
