Information Session - Embassy of France

Find out about the teaching assistant program and the grants and scholarships for Australian students for universities in France. Students studying French may be interested, as well as students in the TESOL program looking for a "teaching assistant" opportunity, along with any student planning to go to France at postgraduate level for the travel grants.  The session will presented by Mr Stéphane Grivelet, Higher Education Attache and will be held on Tuesday 28 August, from 4 - 5 pm in Education Seminar Room 436.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Medicinal Chemistry

For a suitably qualified candidate with a good hons degree in chemistry to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in medicinal chemistry; the project is to investigate the structure activity relationships of ligands suitable for imaging the nicotinic receptor (nAChR) subtypes; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia; $19,616 pa; up to 3 years.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship in the EHN Virus in the Murray Darling Basin

To conduct research into viral diseases of fish in the Murray Darling river system, leading to a PhD in epidemiology and infectious diseases; specifically, the project will investigate the occurrence of epizootic haematopoietic necrosis virus (EHNV) in native finfish and determine the susceptibility of these species to the virus experimentally; applicants should be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or New Zealand citizens; applicants must have an honours degree in Veterinary Science, Science or equivalent; $25,000 pa; up to 3 years.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) - Rethinking Timelines Project (2 scholarships)

These scholarships offer an opportunity to work in a stimulating cross-disciplinary research environment spanning History, Archaeology, Education, Psychology and Digital Methods, collaborating closely with a multi-disciplinary team of researchers in the Centre for Digital Innovation, with CDI technical developers, industry partners in Sydney (Macquarie Library P/L and the Australian National Maritime Museum) and internationally with the University of California Merced; applicants must be Australian/NZ citizens or Australian permanent residents and hold an H1 or 2A degree or Masters degree in a relevant field, $25,627 pa; up to 3 years.

The Cancer & Bowel Research Trust Scholarships

The Trust's objectives are to provide funding to scientific and medical research into the causes, cure and prevention of cancer related illness for all Australians, along with increasing community awareness of preventative measures into the causes of bowel cancer; scholarships are valued at up to $20,000 pa; for 1 -3 years.
