Postgraduate Scholarship in Medical Psychology

A scholarship is available to support a 3 year full-time research project leading to a PhD; the project is to explore predictors of complex grief in partners of deceased women with ovarian cancer; applicants should have a good Hons degree or equivalent in a related discipline; $20,268 pa; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Master of Science Scholarship on miRNA Bioinformatics

A scholarship is available to support a full-time research project leading to MSc in Faculty of Medicine at USYD; the project is to develop bioinformatics algorithms for the identification and characterisation of micro RNAs important in hemopoiesis; applicants should have an Hons 1 degree from an Australian University (or equivalent) in bioinformatics; $24,851 pa to $28,000 pa depending on experience; 1 year; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents, or NZ citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Soviet/Russian Politics

Open to candidates with a good Hons degree in political science or history to undertake research studies leading to a PhD; the project must be in the field of Soviet and/or post-Soviet Russian politics; preference may be given to someone whose work relates to the symbolic aspects of politics; $19,231 pa; up to 3 years.

Scotland International Scholarship

22 scholarships are available for students from Australia, NZ, China, India, South 

Africa and Singapore to study a taught Masters course at any Scottish institution during the academic year 06/07; covers the tuition fee + stipend; up to 12 months; applications for science and technology and creative industries will be given priority; applicants must be between 25 and 35 years old at the time of application and permanent residents of the above countries.

Alexander S. Onassis Public Benefit Foundation Foreigners’ Fellowship Programme

Open to postgraduate students and PhD candidates for academic year 06/07; applicants should be enrolled for a postgraduate course at a Uni either outside Greece or in Greece; covers an allowance of € 600/m, a return air ticket and accommodation; up to 10 months; must be non Greek descent and Cypriot citizens or Greek descent (2nd generation and on) and < 40 years old.

Greek State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) 2006-2007

Available for studies in Greece for academic year 06/07; up to 4 years for a PhD or up to 3 years for a 2nd Masters; 1 year for collection of research data for PhD students; up to 2 years for specialisation in the fine arts; €600 for initial expenses, stay permit dues, tuition fees plus taxes for the School of Modern Greek Language, free medical care in public hospitals in case of emergency; an allowance of €500 mth; applicants must be nationals of the EU Member States, Switzerland, USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, NZ and hold a graduate degree from a university, have an excellent knowledge of English or French and be < 35 years old; medical doctors must be < 40 years old.

Embassy of France - Sciences Po Scholarship 

The Embassy of France offers 1 scholarship for an Australian national selected for the masters program of Sciences Po (the institute for political studies in Paris) for 06/07; includes a monthly allowance of €700 and health coverage; does not include the cost of travel between Australia and France.
