Research Scholarships

 

John York Research Scholarship

Available for a suitably qualified candidate to undertake research
studies leading to a PhD; the broad aim of the project is to understand
mechanisms of inflammation and joint damage in inflammatory arthritis,
in particular, modulation of bone and cartilage cells in vitro and in
vivo; $23,000 pa; up to 3 years

The Menzies Foundation Allied Health Sciences Scholarships

The Sir Robert Menzies Memorial Foundation wishes to stimulate research
in the allied health science and is now offering 2 research scholarships
in this field; $25,000 pa; open to persons who will be full-time
students in a research PhD program which is likely to be completed
during the 2 year tenure of the scholarship; the Foundation has a
preference for applications from graduates in the disciplines of
clinical psychology, nutrition, nursing, occupational therapy,
physiotherapy and speech pathology but applications from graduates of
other allied health disciplines pursuing a PhD in that field will also
be considered.

Kidney Health Australia Biomedical Research Scholarships

Kidney Health Australia provides scholarships for individuals wishing to
study full time for the research degrees of PhD or MD and Masters by
research, by undertaking research into the causes, prevention and
treatment of disorders of the kidneys and urinary tract; $25,000 pa to
$31,000 pa, up to 2 years for a Masters and 3 years for a PhD degree; if
funds permit some consideration may be given to supporting overseas
applicants enrolled at Australian universities, or Australian applicants
enrolled at overseas universities.

Other Scholarships

 

The Moran Fund: A Basser Library Research Fellowship

This award is aimed at postgraduate students and other independent
researchers with expertise in the history of Australian science; its
purpose is to encourage use of the Basser Library collections
<http://www.science.org.au/academy/basser/mslist.htm> , especially by
younger researchers, and it can be used towards travel and accommodation
costs; one $2,500 award per year will be made.
