Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Public Health 

Open to candidate to undertake research studies leading to a MPhilPH or
MPhilIPH at USYD; 12 months only, by which time the candidate must
complete their MPhilPH/MPhilIPH or find alternative funding to permit
conversion and continuation of their candidature to a PhD; $19,257;
applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Postgraduate Research Scholarship in Biomedical Engineering

Available for a project to investigate the piezoelectric properties of
biological soft tissues through coupling mechanical deformation and
electric strength; applicants should have a good honours degree in
science or engineering and a particular interest in biomedical
engineering; must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia;
$19,231; funding available to 31/12/2006 only.

CRCMining Postgraduate Scholarship

Two scholarships are available for research projects in geophysical,
geological and mine planning data fusion; commercially viable research
with CRCMining, the Australian Centre for Field Robotics and the School
of Geosciences; applicants should have a first class honours degree in
engineering; mathematics; computer science, geophysics or related
discipline; background in statistics, machine learning and working
knowledge of exploration/mining geophysical data highly desirable;
$25,000 and increase to $26,000 after one year.

Thomas and Ethel Mary Ewing Doctoral Scholarships in Education 

Available for full-time research in the Faculty of Education and Social
Work leading to the award of the degree of PhD or EdD; applicants must
be graduates and diplomates of the Sydney Teachers' College; or
graduates and diplomates of the Sydney Institute of Education; or
graduates and diplomates of USYD in the Institute of Education,  or the
Faculty of Education (awarded in 1990 and subsequent years), the awards
are intended to enable fellows to carry out part of their research
program interstate or overseas; approx $19,000 pa; up to 3 years.

Thomas T. Roberts Education Fellowship

A fellowship is available to support overseas travel for study or
research into Education in 2006; applicants must be past or present
students in Education of USYD or of former Sydney College of Advanced
Education or of the former Sydney Teachers' College, and must be
university graduates or graduands or hold a degree recognized by the
former Australian Council on Awards in Advanced Education; applicants
need to spend at least 6 weeks overseas and outline the anticipated
benefits for Education in Australia following on from their research;
approx. $10,000.

Alexander Mackie Research Fellowships

Several awards for conducting advanced study or research; applicants
must be graduands, graduates or diplomates in Education of USYD, the
