Postgraduate Scholarship in Molecular Weight Distributions of Synthethic
and Natural Polymers 

Open to candidate with a good Hons degree in science or engineering to
undertake research studies leading to a PhD; the project is to study the
formation mechanisms of a range of synthetic and biological polymers;
$19,231 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be citizens or permanent
residents of Australia.

PhD Scholarship in Mechanisms of Cancer Cell Metastasis 

A full-time PhD scholarship is available for the study of genes involved
in cancer metastasis; applicants should have a 1st class or upper 2nd
class Hons degree or equivalent in cell biology, microscopy,
biochemistry, genetics, biotechnology, anatomical sciences, medical
sciences, or molecular biology; up to 3 years; applicants must be
citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Pig Production and
Vaccination

2 scholarships are available for full-time research leading to a PhD;
the project is to reduce antibiotic usage in pig herds by controlling a
significant economic disease in pigs by vaccination, housing and
hygiene; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in veterinary
science, animal science or agricultural science; $24,650 p.a. in 2005
(to be indexed in 2006); up to 3 years; must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Arrow- Hawkesbury Canoe Classic Scholarship

A supplementary scholarship for students commencing an Australian
Postgraduate Award (APA) or comparable competitive postgraduate
scholarship in 2006 in the area of leukaemia and transplantation;
supplement from the APA rate ($18,837 pa in 05) up to an amount equal to
the base rate of the NHMRC Medical Postgraduate Award ($28,014 in 05),
no other allowances; up to the end of the student's 3rd enrolled year,
with the possibility of a single 6-month extension. 

Note: This is not an automatic award to all successful APA recipients.

Robert Gordon Menzies Scholarship to Harvard

A scholarship is available for postgraduate study at Harvard Uni in the
06/07 academic year; applicants must not previously undertake a
postgraduate degree course in the US; must be Hons graduates of an
Australian university; have Australian citizenship or be eligible for
it; academic excellence is a primary requirement together with qualities
in leadership and promise of attaining distinction in Australia in later
years; up to US$50,000.
