University of Sydney Postgraduate Award (UPA) Co-funded - Semester 2,
2005

Open to applicants wish to commence a full-time Research Masters or
Research Doctorate degree at the University of Sydney in Semester 2,
2005 ; students who have already enrolled in a research degree at USYD
are not eligible to apply; $18,837 pa in 2005; 2 years for Masters and 3
years for PhD; applicants must be Australian citizens, New Zealand
citizens or have been granted permanent resident status in Australia by
16 June 2005.

Henry Bertie and Florence Mabel Gritton Research Scholarships - in
Chemistry related to Industry and Agriculture

Open to graduands or graduates of universities who are members of the
Association of Commonwealth Universities, graduands or graduates of any
country who are citizens of a Commonwealth country or permanent
residents of Australia; for Semester 2, 05; same rate as APA ($18,837 pa
in 2005).

Richard Claude Mankin Scholarship - in Water Conservation

Open to candidates enrolling in a higher degree by research and is
intended to promote and encourage research at USYD related to water
conservation; for Semester 2, 05: Postgraduate Scholarship -same rate as
APA ($18,837 pa in 2005), Supplementary Scholarship - value to be
determined by the selection committee.

G C Henderson Research Scholarship

Open to full-time postgraduate research candidates intending to enrol in
the Departments of Anthropology, Archaeology or History at USYD; to
promote and encourage research into the history of the Polynesian,
Melanesian and Micronesian communities; same rate as APA ($18,837 pa in
2005).

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) for the Investigation of the
Pathogenesis of Chlamydiosis and Cryptococcosis in Koalas

Available for a full-time research project leading to a PhD; the project
is to explore the host-pathogen-environment relationship of the most
prevalent infective diseases in koalas in order to develop strategies to
maintain the health koala populations in Eastern Australia; applicants
should have an Hons 1 degree in veterinary science or biological
sciences; $24,650 pa; 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens,
Australian permanent residents or NZ citizens.
