Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Agricultural
Microbiology/Biological Chemistry/Plant Morphogenesis

A scholarship is available for a full-time research project leading to a
PhD. The project is to investigate the role of P-mobilising microbes in
the plant rhizosphere to promote the growth of crop and pasture plants,
in particular to examine the interaction of plant and microbe genotypes
as factors in the formation of highly effective relationships;
applicants must have an a Hons 1 or 2A degree in a scientific discipline
with an emphasis on agricultural microbiology, biological chemistry or
plant morphogenesis; $25,118 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be
citizens of Australia or NZ or permanent residents of Australia.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Purging of Riverine Saline
Ponds

A scholarship is available for a full-time research project leading to a
PhD; the research is to develop an understanding of the fluid mechanics
associated with the purging of riverine saline ponds using field-date,
CFD and theory; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree, or a
Masters degree in engineering, physics or applied mathematics; $24,650
pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Medical Psychology

This scholarship is available for a full-time research project leading
to a PhD; the project is to develop and evaluate interventions to
support and educate leaders of cancer support groups; applicants should
have an Hons 1 or 2.1 or equivalent in a related discipline; $24,650 pa;
up to 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) in Organic Photovoltaics
(Chemistry)

This scholarship is available for a full-time research project leading
to a PhD; the project is aimed at the development of organic
photovoltaics for efficient solar energy production; applicants should
have an Hons 1 or 2A or a Masters degree in science or engineering,

Postgraduate Scholarship in Dermatology

Open to candidate with a medical qualification (MBBS) to undertake
research studies leading to a M.Med in dermatology; the project is to
investigate the effects of different topical and oral compounds on
ultraviolet radiation-induced suppression of human skin immune
responses; $26,000 pa; up to 2 years; applicants must be citizens or
permanent residents of Australia.

PhD Scholarship in Tumor Biology

A PhD scholarship is available at the Kolling Inst of Medical Research
for the project in investigating the mechanisms of action of a tumour
protein in breast cancer cells; candidates must have at least an Hons
2-1 degree in a biological science discipline; $28,600 in 2006; 12
months in the 1st instance with extension for up to a further 2 years.

EVA Junior Fellows Network

Up to 20 new Junior Fellows will be nominated for a period of two years;
open to students (graduate and post-graduate), young researchers or
young professionals who are Finns residing abroad and non-Finns residing
in Finland or abroad and having an interest in the Finnish business
community and society; the award includes attendance of an annual
seminar in Finland.
