Australian Federation of University Women Inc. (AFUW) Fellowship 

Open to female candidates; min 6 months and tenable in 2006; applicants must be Australian citizens who are enrolled or accepted for a PhD degree by research in any Uni and who are members of AFUW Inc, for a specific project or purpose for PhD research in any field; $4,000.

The Near Eastern Archaeology Foundation (NEAF) Travel Grant and Grants-in-aid

 

The Catherine Southwell-Keely Travel Grant for 2006 - open to recent graduate of an Australian or NZ Uni, currently enrolled in postgraduate studies, requiring extensive travel to pursue research in the archaeology of Egypt, Cyprus or Western Asia; $3,500.   

 

The Leone Crawford Travel Grant for 2006 - available for overseas archaeological site research in the geographical areas in which the Foundation from time to time conducts research; $5,000.

 

NEAF Grants-in-Aid for 2006 - one or more grants are available to assist recent graduates of an Australian or NZ Uni, currently enrolled in postgraduate studies, to pursue research in the archaeology of Egypt, Cyprus or Western Asia; up to $6,500.

Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) UK 

Awards are available for all subjects at any Uni in the UK from Oct 2006; applicants must be Australian citizens; must hold a 1st degree with upper 2nd class standard, or higher qualification by 1/10/06; for Masters or Doctoral research; not for scholars to begin doctoral work if they are already close to completing a doctorate in Australia or who have already obtained a PhD; covers return economy air fares to the UK, approved tuition and other compulsory university fees (excluding board and residence), a personal maintenance allowance (£689/month or £854/month for students living in London);

The prize aims to advance sociological jurisprudence; may be awarded for a published work, for the development of a programme of teaching or other means of public dissemination, or for securing the enactment of laws or rules; authors of eligible work may nominate themselves, or can be nominated; up to $50,000.
