Faculty of Economics and Business PhD Scholarships

The Faculty of Economics & Business will provide up to five scholarships for
outstanding candidates to engage in full-time PhD studies within the Faculty
for commencement in Semester One 2005; applicants must Honours 1 degree (or
equivalent); $25,000 pa, 3yrs; applicants must not be current holders of any
other Scholarship but a limited number of 'top-up' scholarships (e.g. top-up
to APAs) may be offered.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Credit Risk & Credit Derivatives

Available for a full-time research project leading to a PhD in the School of
Mathematics and Statistics; the research is to develop mathematically based
models of credit risk with particular application to portfolio credit
derivatives; applicants must have proven skills in mathematical modelling
and should have a good Honours 1 degree in finance, mathematics, statistics,
physics or engineering ; must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent
residents or NZ citizens; $23,886 pa + $5000 top-up pa; 3 years.

Thomas and Ethel Mary Ewing Doctoral Scholarships in Education 

Available for full-time research in the Faculty of Education and Social Work
leading to the award of the degree of PhD or EdD; applicants must be
graduates and diplomates of the Sydney Teachers' College; or graduates and
diplomates of the Sydney Institute of Education; or graduates and diplomates
of the USYD in the Institute of Education,  or the Faculty of Education
(awarded in 1990 and subsequent years), the awards are intended to enable
fellows to carry out part of their research program interstate or
overseas;$18,484 pa; up to 3 years.

Thomas T. Roberts Fellowships

Several awards for conducting research overseas in the field of Education in
2005; applicants must be past or present students in Education of USYD or of
former Sydney College of Advanced Education or of the former Sydney
Teachers' College, and must be university graduates or graduands or hold a
degree recognized by the former Australian Council on Awards in Advanced
Education; need to spend at least 6 weeks overseas and demonstrate the
potential benefit of their study to education in Australia; approx. $10,000.

Alexander Mackie Research Fellowships

Several awards for conducting advanced study or research overseas in 2005;
applicants must be graduands, graduates or diplomates in Education of USYD,
the former Sydney Teachers' College or the former Sydney College of Advanced
Education; combined value of no more than $7,000; min 2 mths to  max 12
mths.

Getty Graduate Internship Program

Graduate Internships are offered in various departments of the J.Paul Getty
Trust, commencing September 2005;  offer full-time positions for students
who intend to pursue careers in fields related to the visual arts;
applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate program leading to an
advanced degree in a field relevant to the internship(s) for which they are
applying or have completed a relevant graduate degree in 2002 or later; open
to all nationalities;  US$17,300 for 8 mths; US$25,000 for 12 mths.
