ARC Postgraduate and Supplementary Scholarships in Chemistry

Available for highly motivated students to work on a project funded by the
ARC on DNA Nanoshuttles; $18,837 pa; up to 3 years; supplementary
scholarship is available for APA (or equivalent) scholarship recipients
only; $6,163 pa; applicants must hold Hons 1 or 2A degree and be citizens or
permanent residents of Australia.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Tunnelling

3 scholarships are available to candidates to undertake research leading to
a PhD; the project is to improve the understanding of the issues that
influence the design of ground support measures for arterial road and rail
tunnels resulting from the changes in technology currently in progress;
applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A degree in engineering or science;
$23,886 pa for 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian
permanent residents or NZ citizens.

Short Term Project Scholarship in Multimedia Technology

2 scholarships are available for candidates with a good honours degree or
Master by coursework in computer science research; the project is to
investigate the basic technologies for copyright protection and transmission
of home media; 12 wks from 12/04 to 03/05; $200/wk.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Virology, Centre for Virus Research, Westmead
Millennium Institute and Dept Infectious Diseases and Immunology

3 scholarships are available for candidates with a 1st or high 2nd Class
Hons degree (or equivalent) in biomedical science to undertake research
studies leading to a PhD in virology; the project is to investigate aspects
of biology and pathogenesis of either human Cytomegalovirus, Varicella
zoster or Herpes simplex virus; $20,000 pa; up to 3 years; successful
applicant already holding an APA or similar scholarship will receive a
top-up to the above amount; applicants should be citizens or permanent
residents of Australia.
