Scholarship

Postgraduate PhD Completion Scholarship in Anaesthesia and Pain Management
Available for a candidate with a good research record in veterinary or
medical science to allow completion of research studies leading to a PhD in
anaesthesia/pain management; the project is to investigate the factors
associated with the side effects of anaesthetic agents; 1 year; $23,886 pa;
applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia; only USyd
currently enrolled PhD students are eligible to apply.

Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) Postgraduate Student
Top-up Scholarships Scheme
One 2-year Masters or one 3-year PhD top-up scholarship will be available
for postgraduate students who are awarded an APA, APAI or university
scholarship to commence full time research studies at USYD in 2005 and whose
research is in the housing and urban studies field, directly relevant to the
research agenda of AHURI; $7000 pa.

PhD Scholarship, Kolling Institute of Medical Research
Open to a graduate with BSc Hons 1 or 2A or equivalent, or MBBS, to
undertake a laboratory-based PhD project; the project will involve the role
of the growth-regulating protein, insulin-like growth factor binding
protein-3 (IGFBP-3) in hepatoblastoma and other paediatric cancers; $28,014
pa in 2005; applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents.

Australian Pork Limited (APL) Industry Placement Post-Graduate Scholarship
in Veterinary Science
Open to a veterinary graduate interested in developing specialist skills in
pig health & production to undertake a 2-year Masters by research based at
QAF's farms in Corowa, NSW; $29,000 pa ($23,000 pa tax-exempt stipend +
$6,000 pa taxable supplement); applicants must be citizens or permanent
residents of Australia;

enrolled as masters or doctorate degree student at USYD, to undertake a
short period of advanced research or course work in any field, at an
overseas university or equivalent organization in 2005; $7,500; period to be
agreed by the Trustee; applicants must be a financial member of AFUW-NSW Inc
and be permanent resident or citizen of Australia.
