Postgraduate Scholarship in Proteomics
Open to candidate with a good Hons degree or equivalent in science to 
undertake research studies leading to a PhD in proteomics; the project 
involves developing and advancing protein chips in combination with mass 
spectrometry to investigate protein interactions important to the 
surveillance of emerging strains of the influenza virus; $18,484 pa; up to 
3 years.

Reca Stone Scholarship in Legal Theory
1 will be offered to assist an exemplary and needy postgraduate research 
student working in the field of legal theory to further his or her 
full-time postgraduate research program in the Faculty of Law at USYD; 
$5,000 in 2004, no other entitlements; 1 year.

National ICT Australia (NICTA) PhD Scholarships for 2004 in Visualisation
Available to support full-time PhD studies at the USYD for Semester 2, 
2004; successful candidates will have an Hons 1 degree in Computer 
Science/Engineering or IT, or a Masters degree with a significant research 
component, a strong academic record, strong written and verbal 
communications skills in English, and an ability to work in a team 
environment; 3 years; top-ups may be available.

permanent residents of Australia or citizens of New Zealand.

National Breast Cancer Foundation Postgraduate Research Scholarships
Available for all aspects of breast cancer research commencing in 2005; 
research that increases recognition and management of disease and 
treatment-related symptoms, or to translation of knowledge gained from 
basic research into improved outcomes for women with breast cancer, or 
research important to women with breast cancer as identified in the NBCF 
report 'Breast cancer research in Australia: meeting the challenges' will 
be preferable; up to 3 years; up to $27,500 pa + an allowance of $2,000 pa.
