Faculty of Medicine Scholarships for Semester 2, 2004
Up to 40 scholarships will be offered to candidates to enrol for a PhD or a 
Masters by research in the Faculty of Medicine at USYD in Semester 2, 04; 
applicants should have completed (or be a prospective graduate) of the 
equivalent of an Australian Bachelor degree with Hons 1 or a Master degree 
which includes research training; $18,484 pa; 2 years for Masters; 3 years 
for PhD; 2 years for candidates with 1-year equivalent progress towards a 
PhD in another academic institution; applicants must be Australian citizen 
or permanent resident, or a citizen of NZ.

CRC Construction Innovation Research Scholarship
Open to candidate to undertake research leading to a PhD or Masters by 
research in Construction Innovation; the research has to be undertaken at 
one of the following Uni : USYD, QUT, RMIT Uni, Uni of Newcastle, UWS; 
package valued at $30,000 pa; 3 years for PhD; 18 months for Masters; 
applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or 
NZ citizens.

Lizard Island Doctoral Fellowship
Open to candidates enrolled or to be enrolled in a PhD in any Uni; the 
project must be in a scientific discipline relevant to coral reefs and it 
must make full use of the facilities at Lizard Island Research Station; the 
fields of research should be related to Hydrology and Oceanography; A$6,000 
pa for students enrolled at an Australian Uni; A$7,000 pa for those 
enrolled at an overseas university.

and Doctoral Scholarships/Assistantship
Available for Master’s students and doctoral students; 1 year @ €29,500 
(+allowances) for Masters; 3 years @ €29,500 pa + allowances for PhD; 3 
years @ €13,500 pa for PhD assistantship; applicants of Masters and 
Doctoral Scholarships must be nationals of a state other than the UK; 
Doctoral Assistantships are open to all applicants.

Australian-American Fulbright Commission, Fulbright 2005 Awards
Applications are now invited for the following awards to cover study, 
research or lecturing in the US during the period 1/7/05 and 30/6/06; 
applicants must be Australian citizens.  US/Australian dual citizens or 
Green Card holders resident abroad are ineligible:

Fulbright Postgraduate Student Awards
Open to graduate students to undertake an American higher degree or engage 
in research towards an Australian higher degree in any field of study; 1 
academic year (8-12 months); up to $A30,000.

Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow Awards
Available for grantee to undertake postdoctoral study or research for up to 
12 months; up to $A30,000; including travel and allowances for 1 dependant.

Fulbright Senior Scholar Awards
To support established senior scholars and practising professionals of 
academically based professions to visit the US for 3to 6 months; up to 
$A30,000.

Fulbright Professional Awards
For practitioners in any of the professional fields seeking advancement to 
a senior management or policy role who wish to undertake a professional 
development program for 3 to 5 months; up to $A20,000.

Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grants
To support worthy art students, artists or sculptors who need further 
training or other assistance during their formative years; for candidates 
in the early stages of their careers and who are working in a 
representational style in the listed mediums; eligible candidates must a) 
have already started or completed training in an established school of art; 
and/or b) demonstrate, through past work & future plans, a commitment to 
making art a lifetime career; CAD$10,000 (total may vary).
Closing Date:  no deadline and applications throughout the year are welcome

Australian Association for Research in Education (AARE) Doctoral Thesis Award
To recognise and celebrate the achievement of an outstanding Australian 
doctoral thesis in Education; main criterion for assessment will be the 
contribution made to theoretical, empirical and/or methodological knowledge 
in education.
