Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Phase Imaging
Available for a full-time research project leading to a PhD; applicants 
should have an Hons 1 or 2A or Masters degree in science or 
engineering;  the project will improve and apply an innovative approach to 
obtaining phase information from electron microscopy images; $23,886 pa; up 
to 3 years; applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent 
residents or NZ citizens.

Postgraduate Scholarship for Study of Derivative Financial Markets

PhD Research Scholarships in Accounting, Business Law and Business 
Information Systems
Open to candidates who will enroll / are enrolled in full-time PhD program 
in the School of Business in 04 at USYD; applicants should have or expect 
to obtain a good Hons degree in accounting; business law and business 
information systems; $25,000; up to 3 years.

The Garnett Passe and Rodney Williams Memorial Foundation Research Scholarships
Open to candidates who are either medically qualified or science graduates 
who are or will be enrolled for a higher university degree; research in 
Otorhinolaryngology or related fields of biomedical science; up to 3 years; 
tenable in Australian or NZ institutions; $27,489 pa for medical graduates 
or $18,484 pa for science graduates; supplementary allowance and travel of 
up to $7,500 pa.

Australian Society for Fish Biology (ASFB) Student Awards
The following 5 awards are currently open for application:

International Student Travel Scholarship  Open to any student members of 
the ASFB Inc to a present an oral paper at an international conference that 
is relevant to the activities of the Society; up to $5,000. NOTE: Closing 
Date for this scholarship is 30 November 2004.
Barry Jonassen Award  Open to honours or postgraduate student in the field 
of freshwater fish biology or freshwater fisheries; approximately $1,000 to 
cover research costs
John Glover Travel Fund  Open to full time Australian and NZ students to 
attend the annual ASFB conference; applicants must reside in states other 
than those in which the conference is being held; $100; some $300 may be 
awarded in 04.
John Lake Poster Award  To encourage and support high quality poster 
presentations by students at the annual ASFB conference; a certificate and 
monetary prize; valued at $350.
Gilbert P Whitley Memorial Student Award for Oral Presentation  To 
encourage and support high quality oral presentations by students at the 
annual ASFB conference; a certificate and monetary prize; valued at $350.
