Postgraduate Scholarship in Molecular Biology of Antibiotic Resistance
Open to candidate to undertake full-time research studies leading to a PhD;
the project is to investigate the molecular biology of mobile genetic
elements involved in the evolution of antimicrobial resistance in
Staphylococcus aureus; applicants should hold an Hons 1 degree in
biochemistry, microbiology or genetics, or Hons 2A with appropriate
research experience; $18,484 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be citizens
or permanent residents of Australia.

undertake research studies leading to a PhD in theoretical chemistry; the
project is to develop a mathematical model of the crystallization process

A W Howard Memorial Research Fellowship
Open to students have commenced or intend to commence studies in Masters or
PhD that relate to the development, management and use of pastures;
"top-up" stipend @ $5,000 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be Australian

The Sir Robert Askin Operatic Travelling Scholarship
Available for the furtherance of culture and the advancement of education
in Australia or overseas for a MALE Australian citizen who shall be
adjudged of outstanding ability and promise as a male Operatic Singer; 2
years @ $15,000; for study, maintenance and travel; applicants must also be
between 18 and 30 years old at the time of application.

Greek State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) 2004-2005
Available for studies in Greece for academic year 2004-2005; up to 4 years
for a PhD or up to 3 years for a second Masters; 1 year for collection of
research data for PhD students; up to 2 years for specialisation in the
fine arts; 600,00 Euro for initial expenses, stay permit dues, tuition fees
for the School of Modern Greek Language, free medical care in public
hospitals in case of emergency; an allowance of 500,00 Euro per month;
applicants must be Australian citizens and hold a graduate degree from a
university, have an excellent knowledge of English or French and < 35 years
old; medical doctors must not > 40 years old.
