Postgraduate Scholarship in Pharmacogenomics and Drug Development

Open to candidate to undertake PhD studies in 2005 in the Pharmacogenomics
and Drug Development laboratory of the Faculty of Pharmacy at USYD;
applicants should have a degree in biochemistry, molecular biology or a
related discipline; $18,837 pa in 2005; 1 year in the 1st instance,
possibility of renewal for an additional 2 years if progress is
satisfactory; 12 month probation period.

Kay Worrall Postgraduate Scholarship in Geriatric Medicine

Open to candidate with a good Hons degree or equivalent to undertake
postgraduate research studies at the Centre for Education and Research on
Ageing at Concord Hospital in the area of Alzheimer's disease, Geriatric
Medicine and/or ageing; $20,000 pa; up to 3 years for PhD, 1 year for
Masters; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Viral Transport

Open to candidate with an Hons 1 or 2A degree in science to undertake
research studies leading to a PhD in virology; the project is to investigate
the mechanism of microtubule-based transport of herpes simplex virus in
human neurones; $18,837 pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be citizens or
permanent residents of Australia.

Australian Postgraduate Award (Industry) on Integration of Wireless LAN and
Cellular Networks, School of Electrical & Information Engineering

2 scholarships are available for a full-time research project leading to a
PhD commencing Semester 1, 2005 at School of EIE; the research project
involves in the integrated service of wireless local area networks and
cellular systems; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A (or equivalent)
degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or
Computer Engineering; $23,886 pa + a top-up @ $6,000 pa; up to 3 years;
applicants must be Australian citizens, Australian permanent residents or NZ
citizens.

Open to candidate to work on a PhD project regarding the synthesis and
characterisation of ceramic materials for solid state batteries and related
applications; $18,837 pa; up to 3 years;  applicants must hold a 1st Class
or upper 2nd Class Hons degree and be citizens or permanent residents of
Australia.

to 3 years; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A or Masters degree and
must be Australian citizens, NZ citizens or Australian permanent residents.
