[Usyd-scholarships-announce] 2005 Cancer Research PhD Studentship, The Children's Hospital at Westmead

The Focal Adhesion Biology in Cancer research group in the Oncology Research
Unit at the Children's Hospital at Westmead is looking for an enthusiastic
student to undertake research leading to a PhD.  The student will study
adhesion mediated cancer cell survival in the childhood cancer,
neuroblastoma.  Research in the Focal Adhesion Biology group is funded by a
5 year grant from the NSW Cancer Council.  The successful applicant will be
joining a large team of researchers in the Oncology Research Unit, including
post-docs, research assistants and other students, who are actively
researching a number of different areas of cancer.  More information about

Applications are invited from recent graduates and applicants should hold or
expect to gain a first or upper second class honours degree and a strong
academic background in biomedical science and citizens or permanent
residents of Australia.  The scholarship awarded is in line with the 2005
APA rates, supplemented to $25,000.  This income supplement is also
available to students holding an Australian Postgraduate award or similar
scholarship.  Students will be enrolled through the University of Sydney,
Faculty of Medicine, Discipline of Paediatrics and Child Health.
