Open to candidate with an Hons or higher degree, and have been enrolled or

J & M Claffy Fellowship
Open to qualified Medical Practitioner to undertake full-time research
leading to a Higher Degree e.g. Masters Degree with possibility of
converting to PhD; the research is in the area of Eye Banking including
the challenge to provide sight-saving surgery through corneal
transplantation; $18,000 - $21,500 pa; up to 3 years.

The Batten Disease Support and Research Association (BDSRA) Pre-doctoral
Studentships
Available for research in the development of novel therapeutic approaches
to treatment for NCL, development of new and novel animal systems for
researching and understanding the pathogenic mechanisms of NCL, and
development of treatments that will alleviate the symptoms of Batten
Disease and other projects that further the understanding of NCL; up to
$22,000 pa; up to 2 years.

Program – Travel Scholarships
Up to 3 scholarships available to PhD students in NSW to present research
at international conferences/ institutions and to visit overseas
laboratories or centres of excellence; the PhD students must be at the

last 12 months, and are nominated by their Uni as eligible to receive such

Open to students who have commenced or are intending to proceed to
postgraduate study for research on the Library’s collections, not the
completion of a thesis; applicants must be < age of 30 on 1/3/04 and be
drawn from the disciplines of Australian history, literature,
librarianship, archives administration or museum studies; 6 weeks from 3/1
to 11/2/05; $300/wk for the duration of the scholarship, return economy
airfare, accommodation and meals at a Canberra University college;
applicants must be permanent residents or citizens of Australia.
