Peter Nicol Russell (PNR) Postgraduate Scholarship in Mechanical And
Mechatronic Engineering
Available to a successful applicant of the Australian Postgraduate Award
(APA) and University of Sydney Postgraduate Award (UPA) who will enrol in
the full-time Masters of Engineering by Research or PhD degree in
Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering in 2004; $9,000 pa for the duration
of the APA/UPA; the successful APA/UPA applicant will be automatically
considered and there is no need to lodge an additional application;
international students who are awarded an IPRS tenable at USYD in 2004 will
also be considered.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Chemistry
Open to candidate with a good honours degree in chemistry or a related
discipline to undertake research studies leading to a PhD in chemistry; the
project is to investigate the synthesis and characterisation of crystalline
molecular materials that display porosity, with principal focus on the
achievement of spin-crossover behaviour in such materials; $18,009 pa; up
to 3 years; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

School of Business Postgraduate Research Scholarships
Open to full-time candidates who will enrol in the PhD program in 2004;
applicants should have or expect to obtain a good honours degree in any
field of business including: accounting; business information systems;
business law; finance; international business; management; marketing;
transport & logistics; and work & organisational studies; $25,000 pa; up to
3 years.

Australian Pain Society (APS) and Australian Pain Relief Association (APRA)
PhD Scholarship
Available for full time research leading to a PhD or equivalent, at any
recognised Australian University; the project can be related to any aspect
of the mechanisms, diagnosis or treatment of acute or chronic pain; $19,000
per annum + some financial support to allow the candidate to attend the
Annual Scientific Meeting of the Society, the applicant and his/her
supervisor must be an Australian citizen and a member of the APS.

Australian Poultry CRC Postgraduate Research Scholarship 2004
Open to candidates to undertake PhD and Masters degree studies at a
participating University or other approved CRC research location; PhD
Scholarships - $25,000 pa for 3 years + travel, removal and thesis expenses
equivalent to APAI; Masters scholarships provide 90% of the PhD stipend +
full allowances, 2 years; top-up PhD Scholarships for applicants who hold
APA or equivalent awards; will also be eligible to apply for CRC
postgraduate student travel scholarships; up to $5,000 in the latter half
of their candidature for presenting research findings at an appropriate
international scientific conference; applicants must be permanent residents
or citizens of Australia.
