University of Sydney Postgraduate Award (UPA) Co-funded Semester 2, 2003
Open to applicants with, or expect to hold by the end Semester 1, 2003, a 
first class honours degree or equivalent who wish to undertake full-time 
research Masters or PhD programs; $18,009 pa in 2003; 2 years for Masters 
and 3 years for PhD; applicants must be Australian citizens, New Zealand 
citizens or have been granted permanent resident status in Australia by 20

Postgraduate Research Scholarship for an Indigenous Student in the College 
of Health Sciences
Open to qualified Indigenous candidate in the College of Health Sciences to 
undertake research studies leading to either a Masters by Research or PhD 
in any of the health sciences; applicants must be Australian Aboriginal or 
Torres Strait Islander students; eligibility criteria, tenure and benefits 
are similar to those of the Australian and Postgraduate Award (APA); 
application for the College scholarship is automatic upon application for a 
UPA (Co-funded) in Semester 2, 2003.

Margaret Stewart Fund Scholarship
Open to graduates in Psychology of the University of Sydney or any other 
university for research into relationships between ethics and behaviour; 
$18,009 pa, 1 year, extendable to 2 years subject to satisfactory progress 
for PhD candidate; applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent 
residents.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Andrology
Available to candidates with a good Science Honours degree and 
Microinjection skills; applicants must enrol for a full-time PhD research 
degree at the University of Sydney; strong English communication skills are 
essential; $22,800 pa; 12 months with a possibility of renewal for a 
further 2.5 years; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of 
Australia

Henry Bertie and Florence Mabel Gritton Research Scholarships  in Chemistry 
related to Industry and Agriculture

Richard Claude Mankin Scholarship in Water Conservation

related to water conservation; 2 categories: Postgraduate

G C Henderson Research Scholarship
Open to full-time postgraduate research candidates intending to enroll in 
the Departments of Anthropology, Archaeology or History; research into the 
history of the Polynesian, Melanesian and Micronesian communities; $18,009 pa.

The Sheep Industry CRC Postgraduate Scholarships
Available for PhD and Master degree projects at sites across CRC network; 
preference will be giving to students intending to enrol at The University 
of Sydney, UNE, University of Melbourne, or Murdoch Universities in 
Faculties or Departments best suited to the project area; 2 yrs @ $25,200 
pa for Masters; 3 yrs @ $28,000 PhD; applicants must be Australian citizens 
or permanent residents of Australia for at least 12 months prior to the 
commencement of the Award.

The Australian Sociological Association (TASA)/ Australian Association of 
Social Research Inc. (AASR) Postgraduate Conference Scholarship Fund
Open to Masters and PhD students, preference will normally be given to PhD 
students; to support postgraduate participation at TASA annual conferences; 
it includes part subsidy of conference registration fees (normally up to 
70%), full subsidy of pre-conference TASA annual Postgraduate Workshop and 
a letter of acknowledgement of receipt of scholarship; preference will also 
be given to students experiencing economic hardship.
