The R J W Le Fèvre Research Travelling Scholarship
Open to outstanding female postgraduate student in the School of Chemistry 
the opportunity to present a paper or poster dealing with her research at a 
major international conference; $2,500 to cover travel, conference and 
subsistence expenses.

Whiteley Industries Postgraduate Scholarship in Biofilm control on Surgical 
Instruments
Open to candidate with a good honours degree in science or a related field 
to undertake research studies leading to a MSc or a PhD in medicine; 
applicants should have a particular interest in infection control; 2 years 
@ $17,000 pa, possibility of 12 months extension for PhD student; 
applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Organometallic Chemistry
Up to 2 full-time postgraduate scholarships are available for candidates 
with a good honours degree in organic, inorganic or organometallic 
chemistry to undertake research studies leading to a PhD or MSc in 
Organometallic Chemistry; applicants must have good laboratory experience 
in synthetic organic, inorganic or organometallic chemistry and experience 
using advanced NMR spectroscopic techniques would be an advantage;  $18,009 
pa; up to 2 years for MSc and 3.5 years PhD; applicants must be citizens or 
permanent residents of Australia.

PhD Scholarship in Respiratory/Physiology
Open to candidate to undertake research studies leading to a PhD 
respiratory physiology; applicant should have a good honours degree or 
equivalent, experience in research methodology, data collection and hold a 
NSW drivers license; competency with electrophysiological data acquisition 
would be desirable; $21,000 pa for 1 year with possible extension for a 
further 2 years subject to funding availability.

Australian Postgraduate Award  Industry (APAI) in Managing Contaminant 
Metals in Complex Hydrometallurgical Processes
Open to applicants to undertake full-time postgraduate study in Chemical 
Engineering leading to a Masters Degree in Engineering by Research; 
applicants should have an Honours degree (HI or HII.1) in Chemical 
Engineering, Mathematical or Physical Sciences, or equivalent experience, 
excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a 
collaborative research team environment is desirable; 2 years @$23,294 pa; 
for exceptional applicants, further funding for Doctoral study will be 
considered; applicants must be Australian citizens or permanent residents 
who have lived continuously in Australia for the past 12 months.

State Scholarship Foundation (IKY) Greece 2003-2004
Open to nationals of Western Europe, USA, Canada, Japan and Australia for 
studies in Greece; for (a) Masters by research (or a second MA) up to 3 
years; PhD up to 3.5 years, (b) 1 year for collection of research data, (c) 
up to 1 year for further education studies in the Greek Language, 
Literature, Philosophy and Art, (d) up to 2 years in specialisation in the 
fine arts;
600,00 Euro for initial expenses, stay permit dues, tuition fees for the 
School of Modern Greek Language, free medical care in public hospitals in 
case of emergency; 500,00 Euro per month for postgraduate, doctoral studies 
and specialisation in the Fine Arts and collection of research data and 
650,00 Euro per month for further education studies in the Greek Language, 
Literature, Philosophy and Art.
