The Netherlands - Huygens Scholarships Programme 2004-2005

Postgraduate Scholarship in Gastrointestinal Motility
Open to medical graduate to undertake research studies leading to a Master 
of Medicine; the project is to investigate the optimum classification of 
oesophageal motility disorders and their long term outcomes; applicants 
should have undertaken post graduate training in gastroenterology; 
experience in upper and lower gastrointestinal endoscopy is desirable; 
$25,000 pa.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Bio-inorganic Chemistry
Open to candidate with a good honours degree in chemistry to undertake 
research studies leading to a PhD in Chemistry; the project involves the 
development of novel metal complexes containing polyhedral boranes for 
potential use as boron-delivery agents in Boron Neutron Capture Therapy 
(BNCT); a strong background in synthetic chemistry is essential; $18,484 
pa; up to 3 years; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of 
Australia.

MLA-funded Postgraduate Scholarships
4 postgraduate scholarships are available in functional genomic, proteomic 
and immunological investigation, located in The Faculty of Veterinary 
Science at Camden; applicants should have an Hons 1 or 2A in Science, 
Veterinary Science or equivalent;  $25,000 pa, operating expenses and 
conference travel are provided + opportunities for industry-based career 
development; applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of Australia.

Australian Biosecurity CRC PhD Scholarships

7 scholarships are available in in virology, microbiology, molecular 
biology, applied epidemiology, and mathematical modelling; $25,000 pa; 3 
years; operating expenses + travel expenses; industry-relevant professional 
development opportunities; top-up stipends to APA scholarships are also 
available; scholarships will be awarded through one of the CRC's three 
university partners: The Uni of Sydney, The Uni of Queensland or Curtin Uni.

Huygens Scholarships Programme 2004-2005
Available for students from an eligible country to study 3-10 months at a 
Dutch uni or hogeschool (uni of professional education) or at one of the 
eligible research institutes in the Netherlands; applicants should have a 
bachelor's degree or its equivalent before 1/9/04; have graduated no longer 
than 2 years ago, or be working on a PhD in their own country; have not 
spent more than 1 year already studying at a Dutch higher education 
institution as of 1/9/04; skilled in speaking and writing the language in 
which the course is taught; < 35 years old at the start of the study; 
Euro$702/m, standard travel costs, statutory tuition fee and medical insurance.
