School of Physics Relocation Scholarships
Open to post-graduate students from outside the Sydney metropolitan area
who will have obtained a first class honours degree or equivalent and must
be enrolled to study towards a PhD with their primary supervisor in the
School of Physics in 2003; available once only @$3,000; not available to
applicants holding top-up scholarships.

Australian Pain Society and Australian Pain Relief Association PhD Scholarship
Open to candidates undertaking full time research leading to a PhD or
equivalent at any recognised Australian University; project can be related
to any aspect of the mechanisms, diagnosis or treatment of acute or chronic
pain; $20,000 pa + some financial support to attend the Annual Scientific
Meeting of the Society; applicant must be Australian citizen, and his/her
supervisor must be member of the APS.

Australian Antarctic Science Top-up Scholarships
Open to students who have qualified for an Australian Postgraduate Award
for study towards a PhD; applicants must contact the relevant Antarctic
Program Leader before submitting an application; successful applicants and
their supervisors will be required to sign an Acceptance Form; $5,162.

Archbishop Mannix Travelling Scholarship
Open to male and female graduates of an Australian University for
undertaking postgraduate course at an overseas university; preference is
given to applicants who are graduates of University of Melbourne, although
the award may be made to graduates of other Australian universities; the
scholar will take up the award in September 2003; 2 years @ $25,000 pa and
may be extended to 3 years.

Amelia Earhart Fellowship Awards for Women
Open to women of any nationality for graduate study in aerospace-related
sciences and aerospace-related engineering; applicants must have completed
a bachelor's degree in a qualifying area of science or engineering;
demonstrate a superior academic record; provide evidence of a well-defined
research program; have completed one year of aerospace-related graduate
studies by the time the fellowship is awarded; US$6,000; defense-related
studies or post-doctoral research are not eligible.
