Veterinary Science, Australia-Europe Scholarships, Meat and Livestock, The 
Jean Denton Memorial Scholarship

Faculty of Veterinary Science Postgraduate Research Scholarship
1.  A Faculty scholarship funded by the Jean Walker Trust; open to 
candidates for PhD and Research Masters degrees, within any section of the 
Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Sydney; similar to 
Australian Postgraduate Award (APA) ($17,609 in 2002).
2.  A supplementary scholarship funded by the Jean Walker Trust; open to a 
currently enrolled student in the Faculty who hold an APA or equivalent 
scholarship; $5,162.

Meat and Livestock Australia (MLA) Awards for Postgraduate Study
A number of awards are tenable at Australian and overseas universities or 
institutions; aims to facilitate research and training in areas of 
practical value to the Australian beef, sheep meat and goat meat 
industries; MLA Studentships  PG Diploma or Masters courses, 2 yrs, $17,071 
pa plus a technical assistance grant of $2,000 - $4,000 pa; MLA Junior 
Research Fellowships  PhD, 3 yrs, $22,030 pa plus a technical assistance 
grant of $6,000  $8,000 pa.

Australia-Europe Scholarships
Applications are invited for nomination of scholars from France, Germany, 
Italy, The Netherlands, Greece, Slovenia, Finland, Hungary, Ireland and 
Switzerland to undertake postgraduate study or research in Australia; for 
ad hoc postgraduate programs that do not lead to an Australian degree or 
other qualification; up to 12 months duration; benefits include 1 
international economy class return airfare, reasonable domestic travel 
costs to participate in conferences or other research activities, visa and 
any related medical examination costs, enrolment, course and tuition fees, 
basic health insurance costs, a stipend of up to $22,771 p.a., a settling 
allowance of $1,897.58, and a materials allowance of $948.79 paid twice a year.

The Jean Denton Memorial Scholarship
Open for advanced or postgraduate studies or research either within or 
outside Australia;  the purpose or the benefit of which will be applied in 
the early childhood area within Australia. 1 year @ $16,000. Any person or 
persons working in Australia can apply.
