Australian-American Fulbright Commission, Fulbright 2003 Awards
Applications are now invited for the following awards to cover study, 
research or lecturing in the United States: Fulbright Postgraduate Student 
Awards, Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow Awards, Fulbright Senior Awards, 
Fulbright Professional Awards; applicants must be Australian citizens; 
United States/Australian dual citizens or Green Card holders resident 
abroad are ineligible; applicants must be resident in Australia on the date 
applications close; available for interview early October 2002 and in 
Australia when the awards are announced in February 2003. previous US 
experience will not exclude candidates but all else being equal, preference 
will be given to those without previous US academic or professional experience.

Cité Internationale des Arts
For use of the Power Institute’s studio in the Cité Internationale des 
Arts, Paris; open to 3 categories; Category A: Artists/Craftspeople - 
$7,500 for 6 months; Category B: Art Critics, Art Writers, Art Curators, 
Art Historians, Art Administrators - $3,750 for 3 months; Category C: Staff 
of the University of Sydney - $3,500 for 3 months.  NB. Value and duration 
of each award are under review.

Geneva Association Research Grants
Two grants for research into risk and insurance economics; for a thesis 
leading to a doctorate degree in economics; applicants should contact the 
association or consult the website for a list of suggested themes and 
subjects; each grant $10,000 Swiss Francs covers ten months.

Open to women scientists (natural & physical sciences) graduated from an 
Australian university and have outstanding academic ability; applicant must 
undertake one year full time postgraduate work in the U.S; if study is 
longer than one year; proof of financial support for completion of the 
study program or research is required; applicants must be female and 
citizens of Australia; US$14,800 pa

Bursaries for Student Travel Conference Support Award
ABRS offers financial support to postgraduate students in Australian 
institutions to travel to a national or international conference; relevant 
to research program in systematics or taxonomy and the Aims and Objectives 
of the ABRS; applicants must be current PhD or Masters degree (incl. 
research component) in the field of Systematics or Taxonomy; applicant must 
show that a poster or oral paper presentation has been accepted by the 
organiser of the conference; applicants must be citizen or permanent 
resident of Australia; for international conference $1000 max; $500 for 
travel within Australia.
