The following Scholarships are available:
1.      RESEARCH
         Mechatronics/Electrical Engineering, Pharmacology, Nuclear Science

APAI in Non-linear Fibre Research
Open to candidates with an Honours 1 or 2A degree in Mechatronics or 
Electrical Engineering; PhD project is to investigate and research methods 
for producing non-linear fibre for optical parametric amplifiers; 
applicants must be citizens or permanent residents who have lived 
continuously in Australia for the past 12 months; $22,771 pa renewable for 
up to 3 years.

Postgraduate Scholarship in Cellular Cancer Pharmacology
Open to candidates with a First Class Honours or Masters degree in 
Pharmacology or equivalent; PhD project is to investigate the effects of 
drugs used in supportive treatment of cancer patients on cellular 
resistance; applicants should have a particular interest, and preferably 
some research experience in the characterization of p-glycoprotein 
activity; $17,609 pa renewable for up to 3 years.

AINSE Postgraduate Research Awards 2002
AINSE is offering awards for postgraduate students whose research projects 
are associated with nuclear science, or its applications, and require 
access to the national facilities at the Lucas Heights Science & Technology 
Centre; Research Supplements are the principal form of award and are 
offered to scholars who are (or will be) in receipt of an Australian 
Postgraduate Award or equivalent scholarship; Supplement is $7,500 pa and 
the award also provides $5,500 pa for costs involved in using the 
facilities and services at Lucas Heights.
