Hi Steven,

Have you tried to set your "nkmax" to a value that is greater than your:  number of variables X panel data dimension X by number of observations? In your case, it is 26 (variables) X 16 (dimension) X (# of observations)?

Also, try renaming your first variable in each panel row the same name. Like "house" variable should be repeated for all rows (16 rows). It could mean different, but the placeholder should be the first name, I think.

I am running into an apparent limitation on the number of variables I
can write to a new file

The following give me the error

 

Error    71: Variable list contains a name not in the expected table.

  Error   539: Variable list: The unidentifiable string is HOUSE

 

But I don't get the error if I reduce the number of variables

Any suggestions?
