[Geodynamics] [Training course] Data Science & AI in Geosciences and Environmental Sciences – Bordeaux, France, 4–8 January 2027

Dear colleagues, 

We are pleased to announce a one-week intensive course, "Data Science & AI in Geosciences and Environmental Sciences" , held in Bordeaux city, France from 4 to 8 January 2027 . 

WHO IS IT FOR? 
Doctoral students, master's students and professionals in the geosciences and environmental sciences who want a solid first foundation in data science and machine learning. No prior machine learning experience is required: basic Python and statistics are enough. 

WHAT WILL PARTICIPANTS LEARN? 
The course (27 h, in person, taught in English) follows the full data pipeline, from raw field data to model output: data preparation and cleaning, exploratory data analysis, databases, machine learning and deep learning basics, critical model evaluation, digital twins and physics-informed AI. Talks by industry practitioners (hydrology, water resources, oil & gas) complement the lectures, and each participant presents their own research or professional problem for collective discussion.

- Dates: 4–8 January 2027 
- Location: ENSEGID – Bordeaux INP, Pessac, France 
- Fees: €450 (doctoral students and unfunded participants), €700 (funded professionals) 
- Places: 15 for external participants 
- Application deadline: 30 October 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
