Dear all,

I am writing to let you know that the Geodynamics (GD) division of the European Geosciences Union (EGU) is looking for a new Early Career Scientist representative (ECS Rep). The current ECS Rep (Anna Gülcher) will be stepping down at the EGU General Assembly 2022, which means that the amazing opportunity is open for you to take on this role!

For more information about what an EGU ECS Rep exactly is, what tasks this role could involve, the range of activities of the EGU GD early career team, as well as the various associated benefits and opportunities, I would like to recommend at the very informative blog entry that Anna wrote: https://protect-au.mimecast.com/s/Hp0yCP7LAXfKggl3mSzFNRO?domain=blogs.egu.eu

The ECS representative position is open to anyone who:

  * is in the early stages of their career (Master student, PhD candidate, post-doc)
  * is willing to provide guidance, support, and leadership to the community of early career scientists in Geodynamics
  * wants to form connections and build their communication/organisation skills
If you want to know more about the position, please contact the current ECS Rep<mailto:anna.guelcher at erdw.ethz.ch> and ask any questions you may have. If you’d like to apply, please send your CV and a paragraph expressing your motivation to Anna Gülcher <mailto:anna.guelcher at erdw.ethz.ch> by 31st January 2022, i.e. coming Monday.

Please forward this email to anyone you think might be interested in this role.

Best regards,
Jeroen van Hunen
EGU GD president 2021-2025
