Good morning all!

Ah how embarrassing, I’ve managed to confuse the dates of the conference (I was off by a day!). The dates are 5-6 August (Saturday-Sunday). So sorry about that. If you haven’t circulated the information to your colleagues, please forward the text below, and attachments, instead (perhaps delete this portion of text, though). Thanks so much! Again, apologies for the additional e-mails :-) See you in August!

Dear friends and colleagues,

The 2017 Australasian University Geoscience Educators Network (AUGEN)<https://www.earthbyte.org/augen-2017/> conference will be held at the School of Geosciences, University of Sydney, on 5-6 August 2017 (Saturday and Sunday). Registration is free, and we encourage as many of you to attend and support this event. The conference will be a great opportunity to discuss new approaches in geoscience education across all levels (including primary/high school, TAFE, university, etc.). The sponsors have been very generous in supporting the event (including the School of Geosciences and Faculty of Science for hosting the event), so we hope that there will be a large number of attendees.

The abstracts are due by 7 July, and registration closes on 21 July. I attach the second circular, as well as the abstract template. Abstract are to be e-mailed to Kelsie Dadd (kelsie.dadd at sydney.edu.au<mailto:kelsie.dadd at sydney.edu.au>) as Word documents, and you can register through this Eventbrite link<https://www.eventbrite.com.au/e/2017-augen-conference-tickets-29916807978>.

I will post updates and the latest information on the official AUGEN2017 page: https://www.earthbyte.org/augen-2017/

I have tried to contact one person from each university (but have inevitably missed some), so please forward this information onto your colleagues – thanks in advance! We look forward to seeing many (and hopefully ALL) of you in early August! Apologies for cross-posting.

Sabin Zahirovic

PS: Most of you are being contacted via the mailing lists. However, I am directly BCC-ing some of our high school colleagues that attended our workshop last year.
