Dear colleagues,

We want to bring your attention to rapidly approaching abstract deadlines for three IGCP 648-sponsored meeting sessions:

31 January 2016: Abstract deadline for “Supercontinent Cycles and Global Geodynamics” symposium at the 35th IGC, Cape Town, South Africa, 27 Aug – 4 Sept. 2016; see http://www.35igc.org/SymposiumDetail/111/Supercontinent-Cycles-and-Global-Geodynamics-convened-by-IGCP-648?theme=A%20Dynamic%20Earth&themeId=18.
31 January 2016: Abstract deadline for session “Northwest Laurentia’s neighbours in Proterozoic supercontinents: “Cratonic identifications and their geodynamic implications” at GAC-MAC 2016, Whitehorse, Canada, 1-2 June 2016; see http://whitehorse2016.ca/program/talk-sessions/.
15 February 2016: Abstract deadline for session “Supercontinent Cycles and Global Geodynamics (IGCP648)” at the Australian Earth Sciences Convention (AESC) 2016, Adelaide, 26-30 June 2016; see http://aesc2016.gsa.org.au/themes/.

Each of the events runs numerous relevant and attractive field excursions before or after the meetings, and IGCP 648 (http://geodynamics.curtin.edu.au) will distribute a number of small financial supports to junior researchers/students and researchers from underdeveloped countries to attend these events. Please see attached application form which should be returned to me by 29 February.

Sergei Pisarevsky, IGCP 648 project secretary,

On behalf of project leaders:
Professor Zheng-Xiang Li (AUSTRALIA)
Professor David Evans (USA)
Professor Shijie Zhong (USA)
Professor Bruce Eglington (CANADA)
