Internal

Applications are open for the Science Communication Internship at the European Southern Observatory (ESO), based near Munich, Germany, and we will soon be recruiting for one or two vacancies starting in early 2027. The full job ad is available at https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/kUy7CoV1kpf8JxO1Zu1fqVspUNTC?domain=recruitment.eso.org If you are interested, please apply by mid-October as we'll begin evaluating applications shortly after that.

The internships, which have a duration of six months, are paid: ESO offers a monthly allowance of 800 EUR and pays for accommodation (rent and bills) in a shared apartment near ESO's headquarters. ESO also covers the costs of a return trip from/to the intern's home station at the start and end of the internship.

We especially encourage people from ESO member and partner states (Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Czechia, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK) to apply as they are given recruitment preference.

Please contact Barbara Ferreira (barbara.ferreira at eso.org<mailto:barbara.ferreira at eso.org>) if you have any questions.
