Dear Richard,

Just over one week remains for researchers to complete Australia's National AI in Research Survey<https://url.au.m.mimecastprotect.com/s/Zl0IC71R2NTyQ0m8jIBi33iouDOr?domain=q.surveys.unimelb.edu.au>, and we need your help getting the word out.

Science & Technology Australia, with the support of the MetaMelb Research Group at The University of Melbourne, is running the survey to build a clear national picture of how AI is being used in research, and what researchers need to make the most of it.

The survey is open to all researchers, across every discipline, career stage and research setting, and covers:

  *   Where they're using AI
  *   What AI tools they're using
  *   What's getting in the way
  *   What they need to use AI effectively
  *   What AI will mean for research in the future

The importance of these insights is recognised by both the National Health and Medical Research Council and Australian Research Council. The survey is endorsed by and has been refined in discussion with the new Office of AI in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Findings will help establish national baseline data on AI adoption, capability, barriers and emerging needs, and will directly inform implementation of the Ambitious Australia report and the next National Research Infrastructure Roadmap.
